There are many ways to help the Beverly Cleary School Foundation!

Donate Monthly With Automatic Withdrawals

Automatic monthly withdrawals are a stress-free way to donate directly to the Beverly Cleary School Foundation.  Withdrawals are made monthly and may be stopped at any time. This is a great way to spread out donations over the course of the year.  Every donation helps!  As little as $10 a month from all 450 families would add up to $54,000 in one calendar year.  $25 a month would amount to $135,000!

You can register for this program online by visiting the Portland Schools Foundation website and clicking on the “Ways to Give” link (or click here).  Be sure to designate Beverly Cleary School as the recipient school. There are other ways to give, as well.

Donate Appreciated Stock

The Foundation will receive the full value of the stock donated, and you will avoid paying capital gains tax on any gain in the stock since you acquired it.  If you would like further information on how to do this, please contact the Portland Schools Foundation stockbroker Shelly McFarland with RBC Wealth Management at 503.833.5212 or by email at mcfarland@rbc.com.

Sign Up for Matching Employer Donations

Many employers (including Intel, Nike, Standard Insurance, Tektronix and US Bancorp) will donate an amount that “matches” the amount donated by its employee. These donations can be made as a one-time gift or as an ongoing monthly donation. Generally, the employee needs to get a matching donation form from his or her company’s Human Resources Dept. The employee then submits his/her initial donation and form to the Beverly Cleary School Foundation. The Foundation will confirm the receipt of your donation and send the completed form to the employer.  Submitting your donation for employer matching allows you to DOUBLE your positive effect on the Foundation; certainly that is worth a little paperwork.
